A marketplace to democratise solar energy.
A digital platform that removes the barriers users and owners of solar installations face when managing their energy — simplifying complex interfaces and expanding the solar energy market.
Problem

Managing solar installations carries a technical complexity that their interfaces pass straight on to the user. For someone who isn't an expert, handling their own energy is a barrier today, not an advantage.
Process

The project started with a deep dive into the preferences and constraints of solar-installation owners — surveys, interviews and market analysis. On that basis we built a business strategy that would bring value to the customer and return to the investor, with the installers as key partners.
In ideation the differential piece appeared — a peer-to-peer (P2P) system to expand the solar market. From Discovery, Strategy and Ideation we moved on to conceptualising the architecture and the flows — content inventory, sitemap, taskflows, main flowcharts and MVP wireflows. With the structure defined came the branding — visual identity and high-fidelity screens for an interactive prototype ready to test.
Result
Solvent transforms access to solar energy with a P2P system that lets owners sell their surplus. The platform simplifies managing production and answers what users were asking for — payback tracking, energy balance and a sector news feed.
